Sensorimotor Retraining for Persistent Pain and Sensory Loss
2-day course.
$645 incl GST.
Course Overview:
This 2 day practical course will give you the skills to recognise a predominantly sensory hypo-sensitive pain pattern, with large patches / areas of relative numbness, rather than predominantly allodynia and hypersensitivity. You will learn how to identify a Repressor coping style and what this might mean for their rehab tailoring. You will learn how to assist when the person is unable to feel a limb accurately, leading to pain outputs by the central nervous system. You will be introduced to how to recognise possible Functional Neurological Disorder, and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). You will learn ways to restore the person’s sense of safety in the body to then be able to perceive sensory information again to reduce pain. You will learn strategies to restore proprioceptive awareness for the proximal trunk and girdle regions to restore postural reflexes and motor control.
